Discovery+

Discovery+ is the flagship direct to consumer (DTC) streaming service from Discovery. Our mission was to design, develop and release a global service that aggregated content from over 18 network brands, plus originals and the BBC into a single product that would resonate with passionate customers and lifestyle enthusiasts around the globe.

We developed a product that provided simple and clear genre navigation, along with a robust search, and the ability to browse and discover content by brand, theme, channel, and series. This delivered a unique approach to super serve customers who were familiar with other streaming services and the traditional network channel models.

Additionally, we provided both ad supported and ad free versions of the product to ensure that we would meet customers with a broad scale and range of expectations. As we expanded to over 13 different territories, 10 languages, and 15 platforms - we continued to increase our library and service to include kids, live sports and the Olympics.

Discovery+ was designed and developed as a truly customer centered, customer obsessed vision that focused on delivering a product experience using the Most Lovable Product (MLP) Framework. We launched the initial experience in the U.S. on January 5, 2021 with the most platforms of any competitor on Day One. Over the course of 2021, we quickly scaled its adoption and release across 13 Countries including EMEA, APAC, LATAM and Canada - garnering over 20 Million Subscribers.
